Thank you in advance for helping the dogs at Homeward Bound!
We wanted to adopt another dog for our 9 mo. old, black golden retreiver/newfoundland mix puppy, Carly, so she would have a playmate to hang out with and to play with. We adopted Brodie about 5 weeks ago now and he has adjusted nicely to his forever home. They get along great with each other and love to rough house, chase each other, and nap together. Carly does get a little jealous when Brodie plays with another friend at the dog park.
We are so happy that he has joined our family and fits right in with all of us. They are a great sister/brother team. Thank you Homeward Bound for the perfect dog for us and for everything that you do to help these animals.

We adopted our dog Detective (formerly Seth) from Homeward bound in July of 2010. Just a few hours after adopting he was curled up on the couch napping with us and has been a perfect fit ever since. Thank you to Homeward Bound and Detective’s foster family who helped us find him!

Irving, whose name suited him so well we couldn’t bear to change it, is finally at home! After a few months of adjusting he is finally able to relax in his forever home!
He has come such a long way since we adopted him. With help from the twin cities obedience training club, Irving is able to control his excitement around other dogs and has even made friends with a kitten who loves to attack his tail. We still continue to take obedience classes in hopes that one day he will be able to participate in agility classes so he can put some of that boxer energy to use!
He loves how everybody in the house spoils him, and he always had to be the first one at the door to say hi! Irving loves to go for car rides and will make sure you open the window enough for him to smell the outdoors! He loves to squeak his toys and adores chewing them up into tiny pieces so he can prance around knowing his toy will never be able to squeak again!
Irving has made our lives so much more enjoyable since he has come to our home! It’s so nice to know that he will always be there to greet us at the door, lay in the sun next to us, and cheer us up even after the worst day. Thank you so much for bringing this amazing cuddle bug into our lives, we greatly appreciate all you do for these animals because we all know how much they deserve a forever home!

Its almost been two years since we brought Louie (Originally known as Creol) home. He has made such a positive impact on my life. He’s always by my side, follows me everywhere around the house, and simply loves getting attention. I couldn’t ask for more for a dog. He loves other dogs and has a great time at the dog park. He’s such an amazing dog, he’s very well behaved around people, in fact he even has “manners” he will politely nudge his nose into your hands when he wants attention. I could go on and on about how awesome he is.
With some education from some great books (mainly Cesar’s Way) we made sure he made a healthy transition into a new home. I make sure he gets plenty of exercise, a tired dog is a happy dog! Although he still pretty much relaxes all day, he never really gets rowdy and runs around the house like mad. He has never chewed anything up, we had to work on getting him a toy that he actually liked and would play with. He’s a smart, lovable, and all around great dog.
Thank you so much to all the people that made it possible to get a truly wonderful companion.
About seven months ago, I brought home Ripley (now known as Gryffin), from your rescue. She has adjusted amazingly to her new home, in the past seven months. She gets along wonderfully with her two sisters. Gryffin is the sweetest dog and so ridiculously smart. This summer, my boyfriend and I took her to the Irish Festival in St. Paul, and we were stopped about two dozen times because people wanted to ask about her or pet her. Over the summer, she enjoyed nurmerous trips to the cabin and to various campgrounds. She is such a loving dog, and I am so grateful I was able to find her through your rescue. I have included a picture of Gryffin.
Thank you again for letting me bring Gryffin home, and show her what it’s like to be loved and cared for.
