When a dog that appears on the website as a “Featured Dog” finds their new forever home they will be moved to this category. This is in no way reflective of each of the tens-of-thousands of dogs that Homeward Bound has adopted out in the 20+ years we have been in service to these wonderful animals!
Cashmere is a mellow girl; she loves life and loves her people. Cashmere has lived with other dogs and cats and she does great with them. She enjoys those small things in life, like a hug from her people or having her beautiful coat brushed. Cashmere has funny gums that make her smile interesting, but we think it gives her character! Cashmere can’t make it to many of our adoption events, but if you would like to meet her or have any questions please emailCheryl at email@example.com.

Jewels has been in rescue for some time now and as sweet as she is we aren’t too sure why. The stress of rescue life has been weighing down on her and she has started to go through seizures when there is too much excitement. She is now on Phenobarbital (a very low costing daily medication to help prevent seizures) and she is doing better, but jewels has been waiting long enough and she is ready for her forever home. If you would like to meet Jewels or have any questions please email Sherri at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Why are we featuring Spike/Rio….For two reasons….1) Spike tends to sit quietly in the back of his crate at adoption events, so sadly he goes unnoticed. So we wanted to make sure EVERYONE knows what a great dog he is. He loves to play, be petted and give kisses. And he makes his foster family laugh all the time with his silly antics. 2) Some people are unsure about adopting a dog that has had heartworm. Spike will tell you that he is 100% better. Better yet he will show you by going for a run with you!! If you want to know more about Spike, checkout his full bio on our all dogs page.
Nakita is is a sweet old gal. She is about 10 years old. Mellow and easy going this girl would really love to find a loving home to finish out her years. To find out more about adopting Nakita, check out our All Dogs page.
This poor old girl was owner surrendered to us because a family member suddenly developed allergies. After eight years of loyal companionship it sure was hard for them to see her go. What bad luck Sydney has had, but she knows that she has been such a good girl that karma’s got something wonderful coming to her…and that’s her new home. If you feel a connection, then come by one of our adoption events and meet your new best friend. Learn more about Sydney and other great dogs in need of loving homes at our All Dogs page.
Why you ask is such a cute little man Like Sir Henry the 8th Featured as one of our most in need? Well I’ll tell you. Sir Henry has been in our program for well over a year. Can you imagine how much patients he has put into such a long wait. All Sir Henry requires is a loving family to call home. If you think you have what it takes then check out Sir Henry on our All Dogs page.
UPDATE – Congratulations on your adoption George!
Georgie, Porgie, Puddin and Pie. Kissed the kids and made them – cry? Not our George! Our George loves children. In fact, in true hound fashion, our George loves just about everyone and everything. George is a young (about 9 months?) hound mix, quite stunning, with the body of an athlete and the brain of a goofy baby. He loves to play, has a moderate activity level, and as you would expect, needs some polishing on his manners – but after all, he’s still just a baby himself. George is doing well with his housetraining, is cratetrained and gets along very well with other dogs. He hasn’t been with cats, but he’s so good-natured that we’re guessing he’d be ok with them, as long as they’re tolerant of a big dog who doesn’t know his own size. George is very food-motivated, which will help greatly with training, and is quite affectionate. With training, he’d make a fabulous running partner, and is an all-around great dog, particularly if you’re looking for a boy with more heart than brains. This dog has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested for heartworm and lyme disease, and will be microchipped as soon as adopted. If you have questions, you can email Jackie at email@example.com. She can also send you a pre-adoption questionnaire.
UPDATE: Congratulations on your adoption Lady Di!
Lady Di has the name of a dog that most would think it high maintenance. But if you look closely you will see much the opposite. Lady Di is a get down and dirty kind of girl. She is always ready to play; running through the mud is her kind of game. She plays well with people and dogs of all sizes. She is a smart girl too. Lady Di is always ready to learn. She is potty trained on a schedule and crated for the work day. This dog has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested for heartworm and lyme disease, and will be microchipped as soon as adopted. You can email Rachel at firstname.lastname@example.org with questions. She can also send you a pre-adoption questionnaire.
UPDATE: Congratulations on your adoption Daubie!
Daubie is a serious name for a calmer, gentle, quiet sweet dog. Full grown at 25+ pounds, house-trained and crate trained, this girl is quite the lady. She walks well on the leash, is friendly without being overbearing, and gets along well with everyone. She cuddles the kitties, is patient with other dogs and does well with kids. However, her more docile and quiet demeanor means she prefers a calmer home.
She is so easy to miss at adoptions, she curls up and sleeps and that is the only reason we can think of that she is still around. Talk about a perfect dog – those eyeliner eyes, the soft temperament… This dog has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested for heartworm and Lyme disease, and will be micro-chipped upon adoption.
