Fandango is fantastic

I remember it like it was yesterday …

In 1996 Homeward Bound had a Pet Adoption in Fridley where the Cub Foods currently is located. Back in ’96 it was Holiday Foods & had a tiny strip mall inside the entrance. I was grocery shopping with my then eight year old son. We stopped to see the animals & I was drawn to a particular group of kittens.
There were several six week old orange kittens in a cage and sitting in the middle of them all was a four month old brown Tabby. She looked so out of place! I picked her up & rubbed her all over my face as I had some cat allergies & knew this was the best way to know for sure. We left to get our shopping done, vowing if my eyes weren’t swollen shut afterwards, we would come back for that precious little girl. And so it was meant to be. I adopted her, we named her Stella. She turned 15 yrs old in September. Stella still looks the same as she did back in 1996, just a little bit bigger
We have since rescued two more cats, three dogs, and fostered over 200 dogs for a local rescue. And it all started with that out-of-place kitten 15 yrs ago. Thank you, Homeward Bound, for the incredible gift of Stella. She has been an amazing companion and mouser. She has been loved, cherished and well taken care of all these years and we look forward to many more years of love and health. I just wanted to share my story.
Gratefully,
Patty S.

A Perfect Fit!
We adopted our dog Detective (formerly Seth) from Homeward bound in July of 2010. Just a few hours after adopting he was curled up on the couch napping with us and has been a perfect fit ever since. Thank you to Homeward Bound and Detective’s foster family who helped us find him!
