Skittles

Charlie ( 15 years) and Cheyanne ( 14 years in December) are a pair of senior dogs ( Charlie, the scruffy one, is 20 pounds and Cheyanne the smooth coat is 10 pounds) that are a mix of a bunch of cool breeds. These two are sadly seeking a new home due to the death of their loving owner, who adored them and never meant to leave before them. They have received routine vet care their whole lives, ben well fed, slept in bed, gone on the golf cart for rides, been constant companions. We know finding a home for one senior dog is hard, and finding a home for a pair is even harder, but we want to try. Jasmine is the sweetest, calmest, most loving fluffy kitty you will probably ever meet. She is a gentle soul, friendly and purrs all the time, and has so much calm and patience. Jasmine was surrendered to the vet when she kept getting &#039;backed up&#039; in her bowels and needed a surgery. The surgery was done, the meds plan and food were figured out, and she lives as a very normal kitty again with a mild laxative she takes daily and soft food. Her medical needs are around $30 a month, and that&#039;s less than you&#039;d pay for therapy you might not need with this sweetheart in your life. She loves to curl up on your body and purr and just so politely wants to be with you. Kewpie is an 8 week, 8 pound female Australian Shepherd mix. We are guessing adult size to be between 30-45 pounds based on current size, but without knowing parents, we can&#039;t promise anything. Kewpie is fostered with kids, dogs and cats, and is a well adjusted and super cuddly baby. She is very much a baby still, so expect house training, manners, chewing, etc to continue to be a work in progress. Balencia &quot;Bea&quot; is a young adult female dilute (soft colored) Calico kitty who came to rescue with her kittens. This champ handled a long ride in a van full of dogs with her 4 tiny babies, plus an additional baby in need that she mothered. Bea likes to play with her foster mom and the other cats in her foster home. She is fine with dogs that don&#039;t harass her. Bea likes to be pet and watch what is happening in the world through the windows. She does have a sensitive stomach and we found a reasonably priced dry cat food that she does well with (American Journey dry). Bea would be fine in a home with other pets, but equally fine on her own with people attention. Balencia

Bailey was saved from a euthanasia list and she knows how to show her appreciation for it every day. She is a year old and 35lb with lots of energy, but settles down easily and loves to lay next to her people for ear scratches. Her favorite thing in the world is any ball, and she will play fetch for hours if you&#039;re up for it. She&#039;s working hard at leash training and making great progress there. Crates are not her favorite, so she prefers more open spaces when left alone, but she&#039;s happiest when her people are home and close by. She gets very excited to see squirrels and literally jumps straight up and down in delight when she sees a ball or toy come out. She has short, soft fur and beautiful brown eyes. She&#039;d be great in an active family with a large fenced yard to run in. Skylar is a 17-month-old shepherd mix of about 62 lbs. She is a very social sweet, loyal, loving dog. She&#039;s great with all dogs and people. She loves kids but she forgets about her size. She has interacted with cats and wants to play and has no issues but is oblivious to social cues of not everyone may like her company. She is house and kennel-trained, along with basic obedience training. She walks well on a leash and loves car rides and dog parks. A yard is a must to run out all things puppy. Godzilla

Atticus is a middle aged mixed breed, about 45 pounds, who has a tough past but he sure doesn&#039;t show it. He is always happy.  He loves to chase the squirrels and enjoys watching the birds at the bird feeder, he doesn’t bark or growl at the birds he just sits on the couch and watches them. He likes to lay on the couch and will cuddle with you if you invite him. He loves to sleep in bed with his fosters as well, no matter how little space there is. Atticus came from Mexico and was badly hurt, left to heal on his own. He had a broken pelvis and broken leg that healed on it&#039;s own. Maybe that&#039;s why he enjoys a soft bed and a warm loving home so very much. Atticus is a smart dog who responds very well to training. He enjoys other dogs, meeting people, and plays well with others. He is well house trained and crates when alone, although is graduating to more free reign then also. Louisa is a middle aged, mid sized mystery mutt who has been in foster for a year now. She came in with her puppies a year ago, and they all went to new adventures. Louisa is waiting her turn, and needs a special family with dog experience to find her. She is reliably house trained, crates very well for the workday, listens well and respects/responds to limits and boundaries. She enjoys the company of most dogs, although one senior female at her foster she is overly bossy with. She is good with cats. Louisa would thrive in an adult home who can manage her with men. She was previously very abused by a man, which is why she was taken away, and it takes her awhile to warm up to new guys, but she does and then loves them. However, on walks, with company coming over, etc she is not trusted with men she doesn&#039;t know. If you can manage that one part, she is otherwise very enjoyable to live with and love. Max is an 8 year old black Lab who was originally rehomed for being gun shy, so not the hunting dog his original owner wanted, and is now seeking another home due to a move and him being too large for a fragile older lady in the home. Ophelia is a cat who is meant to live with someone who expects a diva... notice we said &quot; live with&quot;, not &quot; belong to&quot;? Ophelia is a cat who holds herself in high regard and thinks most other animals are clearly beneath her. That being said, she adapted very quickly to the other cats at her foster home, and gives a healthy respectful space to the dogs. She is a quiet cat as far as energy, likes to share the room with you and be petted on her terms, but doesn&#039;t like being picked up, doesn&#039;t want to be petted when it&#039;s not her idea, and absolutely hates cages. Even at her angriest though she shows inhibition. Her scratches usually have one pinprick, and that&#039;s when she&#039;s in a cage, cornered, or being carried by someone she doesn&#039;t know. This princess needs a home willing to just take her- guarantee a first meet is not going to have a single positive thing to it- and bring her home, let her settle for a week, then decide. She chirp meows for attention, loves her food, winds around your feet when she&#039;s lovey, and has a lot of personality- just 75% of her personality is bi%#hy. Ophelia

I would like you to meet Aarmis aka Thunder. He is a one year old Golden Retriever/German Shepherd mix ( best guess). His fosters  call him Thunder as that was his name from his prior adopted family who underestimated the energy of an adolescent. He needs a family with at least one other dog that likes to play or a very active family that will take him on long walks, play with him, and/or take him to dog parks regularly.  He is rarely left alone ( used to someone home most of the time) and is kenneled at night with no issues.  He is not a fan of fireworks or thunder and will hide under or behind anything he can find. He has enough German Shepherd in him to be a good barking watchdog when people come to the door, and he is learning to be redirected. Once they come in he&#039;s fine. Spicy is a super petite Torti kitten who got her name because she has Tortitude... and anyone who has had Tortieshell cats, you get it. She is skittish of strangers, hid for the first week in foster, keeps to herself and bonds SO hard to one person, the one who is willing to be patient, go slow, and earn it. Spicy really likes other cats and is afraid of dogs. She uses the box and the scratching post well, rarely makes noise, and once you win her over, she&#039;s yours for life- but it takes a few weeks. We still can&#039;t hold her and walk without panic starting, but she is getting braver about everything else. Spicy is spayed, vaccinated, FeLeuk negative, wormed. Tweety, an adult female Rat Terrier mix with a giant love for humans ( including kids) and a soft side that makes her do about anything to avoid getting into trouble. Tweety spent the last 5 months in the shelter, so is relearning the house training, and is protective of her food with other pets. These can be trained and with patience and time she will be an expert with both. Tweety likes walks a lot, does best with house training if you go outside with her, and is not much of a barker. She will be sassy with other new dogs when she meets them but within a day is completely fine ( except for with food). She is also cat friendly. Poppy Tabs is an adolescent female mixed breed with a laid back, sweet, eager to please personality. She is well mannered in the house, house trained and crate trained. Poppy Tabs loves other dogs, kids, and enjoys cats, but she considers the cats littermates in play :) Poppy Tabs minds her manners and is a fun dog to bring out because she&#039;s sensible enough to do some watching, read the room, and then join at the right energy level. Bowie is a Beagle with some baggage. Cute as can be, this young adult Beagle has a lot of Beagle traits (the bay, the enthusiasm for long sniffing walks, the passion for food, and wily smarts) but came to us with some serious resource guarding issues. He went through behavior rehab and is doing wonderfully, but without an experienced dog owner will revert back. He used to guard food, items he thought were his, and his sleeping space, and would react with a bite. At this point, in foster care, he allows us to handle him all over, take food and treats away, and move him. He needs an experienced owner to continue boundaries, training, and kind firmness. We adore him, we have no issues right now (except with cats, he hates cats). Bowie is house trained, crated when alone, loves walks, would do best with a fenced outside area, and we are highly recommending continued training classes. Dobby is an athletic small Lab mix who also has a very chill side, especially where a pile of pillows is concerned... he loves to sink into a pile of pillows and nap. He also loves walks and runs, and enjoys being able to use his nose to sniff things out. He is not reliable off lead though so does require a fenced yard or someone who can walk daily. He is well house trained, not a barker, crate trained, very dog and people friendly, but no cats. He can be a bit much for small kids, he gets excited and doesn&#039;t know his size ( 40 pounds). Winnie is a young adult female Corgi ( with 9% Cattle dog also) seeking a new home who is active, playful, likes to be outside burning some energy, also loves cuddling... and she needs to be the only dog in the home, and either have a fenced yard or a firm commitment to leash exercise- she does run when she gets loose. Winnie was previously adopted from us and despite extensive work with trainers and a deep commitment from her adopter, she is not doing well with the other dog in the home. We feel she needs to be the only dog in her home, although she does well meeting other dogs out and about and for visits. It&#039;s once she gets territorial of a place that she starts to become too bossy. She&#039;d be great with older kids/teens, is good with dog-savvy cats, loves to cuddle and play. She has some wild energy that she needs to get out, but that can be managed with exercise and training. She loves to jump on top of people, wildly lick faces, leap off the back of the couch, etc. She will need regular exercise and boundaries. But she also loves to cuddle once she calms down, and will curl up next to you (or on top of you) whenever she can. She&#039;s very people-focused. She is super smart. She picks things up quickly, and wants to please you. So training is easy with her - she doesn&#039;t even always need treats; lavish praise and belly rubs also work. But because of her brains, she also knows how to push the boundaries and try to skate past the rules. So consistency is key. She would probably do great if anyone wanted to do agility or herding classes or anything like that with her. She eats everything. The only toys I&#039;ve found for her are Playology bones/balls - I&#039;ll send her favorites with her. She loves to chew, but once she starts to get pieces off or finds stuffing, she actually eats it. So she has to be watched with toys. She will also eat anything she finds on the floor, edible or not. She crates beautifully. She&#039;ll start to whine a little if she can hear the family is out while she&#039;s locked up, or when she has to go outside in the morning. But otherwise she does great. However, she can also be trusted out in the house while you&#039;re gone - she doesn&#039;t destroy furniture or do anything that would be a concern. (Just make sure there&#039;s nothing within reach that she could eat...). Due to poor breeding, she has the start of bad hips already ( not likely to affect her for several years, but it&#039;s there) and is missing some teeth.She is otherwise healthy, happy, and ready to be the queen of her new home and adore all the humans there! Winnie

Nibbles is an 8 week, 8 pound male Australian Shepherd mix. We are guessing adult size to be between 30-45 pounds based on current size, but without knowing parents, we can&#039;t promise anything. Nibbles is fostered with kids, dogs and cats, and is a well adjusted and highly responsive to training puppy. He is very much a baby still, so expect house training, manners, chewing, etc to continue to be a work in progress. He&#039;s a medium energy puppy who will require daily mental and physical exercise. Nibbles would love a home who wants a dog to hike and play with. He is available Nov. 9th. His adoption fee of $550 plus tax covers neuter, first 2 shots, worming and chip. Adopters must be able to get her to our neuter clinic in either Buffalo or Forest Lake area.

Luka is a 3-4 month shorthair white with grey kitten, picked up as a stray, and he is so outgoing and confident. He goes to work with his foster mom and thrives on all the people and attention, he soaks up every pet and kiss passed out. He is playful, affectionate, and smart.
