Atticus is a middle aged mixed breed, about 45 pounds, who has a tough past but he sure doesn&#039;t show it. He is always happy.  He loves to chase the squirrels and enjoys watching the birds at the bird feeder, he doesn’t bark or growl at the birds he just sits on the couch and watches them. He likes to lay on the couch and will cuddle with you if you invite him. He loves to sleep in bed with his fosters as well, no matter how little space there is. Atticus came from Mexico and was badly hurt, left to heal on his own. He had a broken pelvis and broken leg that healed on it&#039;s own. Maybe that&#039;s why he enjoys a soft bed and a warm loving home so very much. Atticus is a smart dog who responds very well to training. He enjoys other dogs, meeting people, and plays well with others. He is well house trained and crates when alone, although is graduating to more free reign then also. Mickey is a one year old, 35 pound, fluffy and adorably friendly mixed breed who does well in most situations. He likes people, is used to older kids, does great with other dogs and has cat experience also. Mickey is doing well with house training and is kenneled when alone. He swims, he loves walks, he cuddles, and he is VERY smart- maybe some Border Collie in there? Loves training. Mickey has an old injury that healed in one leg so does have a slight hitch to his step which is apparent when he does his Tigger happy bounces. It does not slow him down in the least. Elsa surprised us by not being a Chihuahua at all... she&#039;s a mid size, very friendly, well behaved middle aged mixed breed. She is about 25 pounds and 16 inches at the shoulder, so just taller than a Beagle.
 Elsa is reliably house trained, enjoys playing with the other friendly dogs, gets along great with cats. She is tolerant of kids but prefers an adult home, which is what she was used to. She is polite and friendly meeting strangers, and so far has been good as gold with us. Initial meets can cause a little shyness, she is well mannered but not a dog who will immediately approach someone new.  She&#039;s been quiet in foster with us and really loves having canine company, so her new home should have another dog and a fenced yard or dog park time, as she loves to run and play. This good girl is a great first time dog or dog for someone needing relatively easy and well-behaved, but wanting something who enjoys walks and play as well as bed cuddles. Chip is a 10 week male Chocolate Lab/Wirehair Pointer mix ( best guess), about 15-20 pounds, with an outgoing attitude and a lot of love to share. Ella is a senior German Shepherd ( but she sure doesn&#039;t act senior, she&#039;s got pep and loves to run and play, and is amazing shape) seeking a forever home with a fenced yard or acreage. Balencia &quot;Bea&quot; is a young adult female dilute (soft colored) Calico kitty who came to rescue with her kittens. This champ handled a long ride in a van full of dogs with her 4 tiny babies, plus an additional baby in need that she mothered. Bea likes to play with her foster mom and the other cats in her foster home. She is fine with dogs that don&#039;t harass her. Bea likes to be pet and watch what is happening in the world through the windows. She does have a sensitive stomach and we found a reasonably priced dry cat food that she does well with (American Journey dry). Bea would be fine in a home with other pets, but equally fine on her own with people attention. **Simon is deaf**
Simon is a young DEAF English Shepherd/Australian Shepherd mix who is searching for his forever home. Simon needs a home with herding breed experience who understands the amount of physical and mental activity a dog like him will require. Deaf herding dogs can be more prone to OCD or other behaviors if they are not properly exercised both mentally and physically, so someone who understands this is very important. A physically fenced yard is a must (no exceptions), and no shared walls (because he is deaf, he can be a bit loud when he is left alone). Simon needs a home with another young, active dog, as he truly thrives on their companionship, and someone who works from home or is home often is ideal. He is a super sweet, super smart boy who would excel at obedience, and may have what it takes for agility and nose work. He is already learning sign language, is doing well on house breaking and crate training (though he does have some crate anxiety that we are working through), and is fostered with other dogs, kids and cats. He loves to run an play and being deaf does not slow him, or his herding instincts, down one bit. Simon is super cuddly and an all around good boy. Poppy is a 7 year old Maltese mix ( slightly larger) seeking an experienced home. She thinks she is queen of the home, and expects to be treated as such. Poppy is used to a calm and quiet home, and bonds very hard with her caregiver. She is tolerant of other dogs but clearly does not consider herself one of &#039;them&#039;, and would love to be a single. She is well house trained and has nice house habits. Her greeting strangers habit though leaves a lot to be desired. She is grouchy and barky and does not make a good first impression. We are looking for a foster to continue socializing her, or an adopter who wants a calm dog who adores them and dislikes just about everyone else :)

Poppy *Foster Needed*

Skylar is a well loved local dog, a prior adoption from us, seeking a new home due to an unexpected change in her adopter&#039;s schedule. The energy and time they have put into her means someone is very lucky to adopt an already well started dog!

Skylar is 15 months, 55 pounds, mixed breed. Skylar is a very happy puppy, she gets along well with other dogs and loves people. She&#039;s great with kids but forgets her size. She&#039;s met a cat and wanted to play but the kitty was not fond of her. She&#039;s kenneled and house trained. She has lots of energy and loves best being able to play. She walks fairly well except when she&#039;s on the hunt ?.  Skylar is great with car rides and absolutely loves the dog parks, making friends easily there.  She likes the water and shows interest in it just haven&#039;t done much with swimming with her. Her vaccinations are up to date, she is spayed, and she even had her teeth cleaned earlier this year. Skylar has been through basic obedience. She is used to a fenced yard and another canine companion.

Skylar

Bowie is a Beagle with some baggage. Cute as can be, this young adult Beagle has a lot of Beagle traits (the bay, the enthusiasm for long sniffing walks, the passion for food, and wily smarts) but came to us with some serious resource guarding issues. He went through behavior rehab and is doing wonderfully, but without an experienced dog owner will revert back. He used to guard food, items he thought were his, and his sleeping space, and would react with a bite. At this point, in foster care, he allows us to handle him all over, take food and treats away, and move him. He needs an experienced owner to continue boundaries, training, and kind firmness. We adore him, we have no issues right now (except with cats, he hates cats). Bowie is house trained, crated when alone, loves walks, would do best with a fenced outside area, and we are highly recommending continued training classes. Monte may resemble a bear cub, but he&#039;s more of a teddy bear than anything else. He will melt into you, and is full of puppy wags and kisses. Louise is a 7-8 month Lab mix pup, bout 40 pounds, very gentle and loving girl. She is used to kids, cats and dogs, and is doing well learning the house and kennel training. Louise very much enjoys the other dogs at her current foster and is exceptionally quick to catch onto training. She&#039;s a people pleaser for sure. Ocean is a 3 year old, 25 pound female brindle mixed breed who is an outgoing, friendly, cheery little dog. She is always a happy dog, her nub tail constantly wiggling with her entire back end, and she has what looks like a big smile on her face. She adores everyone she meets, and will do pretty little dances for them so they’ll look at her! She is 100% a lap dog, and will make herself comfortable, all the while giving warm, slobbery kisses everywhere she can reach. She enjoys being outside and playing with her other dog friends. She is extremely playful and would love to have a friend as energetic and playful as she is in her new home. She’s also very nice at sharing her beds and toys, always enjoying snuggling her dog companion on their shared bed. Ocean will need some work with kennel training- there is some insecurity about being left behind so she cries-, but she is very clever and would do wonderfully with a consistent schedule. House training is going very well. She’s also fairly decent on a leash, tending towards getting excited and bouncy when she knows she’s going somewhere. She would be happiest in a home with a yard and another dog, and someone willing to allow her on the couch for snuggles. Ricky is a young adult male Border Collie/mystery mutt mix, about 50 pounds at with long legs and a slender build. He is fostered on a hobby farm and LOVES it, so we would love to find a similar home for him. He learned early on how to hop the fence to find his foster, and sticks right with her, appreciating the acreage. He helps with horses and kitty care, follows the workers around, and enjoys the other dogs. He also really likes kids. Ricky is house and crate trained. Louisa is a middle aged, mid sized mystery mutt who has been in foster for a year now. She came in with her puppies a year ago, and they all went to new adventures. Louisa is waiting her turn, and needs a special family with dog experience to find her. She is reliably house trained, crates very well for the workday, listens well and respects/responds to limits and boundaries. She enjoys the company of most dogs, although one senior female at her foster she is overly bossy with. She is good with cats. Louisa would thrive in an adult home who can manage her with men. She was previously very abused by a man, which is why she was taken away, and it takes her awhile to warm up to new guys, but she does and then loves them. However, on walks, with company coming over, etc she is not trusted with men she doesn&#039;t know. If you can manage that one part, she is otherwise very enjoyable to live with and love. She&#039;s silly and very cuddly and listens well. She would do best with a fenced yard and when she has her daily visits to the hobby farm, she is in heaven and does very well there. Dobby is a happy soul who likes every dog, cat, and human he meets, and is full-grown at about 35-40 pounds. He is house-trained and kennel trained, loves his walks and yard playtime more than anything. He is high energy and he does chew, and he would benefit from a foster or adopter who enjoys a puppy mind in a house-trained adult body. Dobby 

DeeDee is a six year old spayed female longhair orange female cat seeking a home as an only cat. Adopted originally to be a companion for an existing cat, despite multiple attempts ( owners have tried absolutely everything) the cats do not enjoy time together. She does love people, all people, and is a great companion. She loves napping in laps, watching the birds/squirrels outside the window, and loves her cat tunnel. DeeDee is reliable with the litter box as well. She&#039;d love a calm home wanting an affectionate lap cat.
DeeDee had two dental extractions and a cyst removed from her neck last week. She was pretty constipated due to hairballs and stress from overgrooming to calm with the other cat, but the vet was able to clear her out and she is currently taking laxatives daily to help minimize a reoccurrence. This is a syrup that goes in her food and she eats it right down, and on her own, she will not need it. She is much happier after vet care and they don&#039;t want her to continue to experience a stressful environment with a cat that she distrusts.
