Bowie is a Beagle with some baggage. Cute as can be, this young adult Beagle has a lot of Beagle traits (the bay, the enthusiasm for long sniffing walks, the passion for food, and wily smarts) but came to us with some serious resource guarding issues. He went through behavior rehab and is doing wonderfully, but without an experienced dog owner will revert back. He used to guard food, items he thought were his, and his sleeping space, and would react with a bite. At this point, in foster care, he allows us to handle him all over, take food and treats away, and move him. He needs an experienced owner to continue boundaries, training, and kind firmness. We adore him, we have no issues right now (except with cats, he hates cats). Bowie is house trained, crated when alone, loves walks, would do best with a fenced outside area, and we are highly recommending continued training classes. Balencia &quot;Bea&quot; is a young adult female dilute (soft colored) Calico kitty who came to rescue with her kittens. This champ handled a long ride in a van full of dogs with her 4 tiny babies, plus an additional baby in need that she mothered. Bea likes to play with her foster mom and the other cats in her foster home. She is fine with dogs that don&#039;t harass her. Bea likes to be pet and watch what is happening in the world through the windows. She does have a sensitive stomach and we found a reasonably priced dry cat food that she does well with (American Journey dry). Bea would be fine in a home with other pets, but equally fine on her own with people attention. Marley is a small, happy, outgoing mixed breed puppy who would love a family or another dog to spend time with. Cinnabon is a squishy faced adorable mixed breed seeking a home who wants a reminder of Eeyore every time they look at her. She is so goofy looking and so loveable. Cinnabon&#039;s mom was a Blue Heeler mix, dad unknown, but she sure looks Shar Pei. She is a laid back, easygoing, affectionate puppy who gets along with everyone he meets. Tweety, an adult female Rat Terrier mix with a giant love for humans ( including kids) and a soft side that makes her do about anything to avoid getting into trouble. Tweety spent the last 5 months in the shelter, so is relearning the house training, and is protective of her food with other pets. These can be trained and with patience and time she will be an expert with both. Tweety likes walks a lot, does best with house training if you go outside with her, and is not much of a barker. She will be sassy with other new dogs when she meets them but within a day is completely fine ( except for with food). She is also cat friendly. Socks is a 7 year old black Lab/Border Collie mix who came to rescue when his owner passed away. He was a loyal friend to the end, and so badly wants to return to being someone&#039;s sidekick and companion. He is reliably house trained, crates quietly but likely doesn&#039;t need one, rarely barks, and walks like a dream on the leash. He loves attention and affection and would love to be someone&#039;s heart again. Socks has lived with other dogs and is tolerant, but when new dogs get in his face he first tries to avoid them, then will snap at them- never to people. He just doesn&#039;t have the patience for young rowdy dogs in his face. He is behaving well with the resident dogs at his foster home. This dog is so smart, so intuitive, and so loving. I would like you to meet Aarmis aka Thunder. He is a one year old Golden Retriever/German Shepherd mix ( best guess). His fosters  call him Thunder as that was his name from his prior adopted family who underestimated the energy of an adolescent. He needs a family with at least one other dog that likes to play or a very active family that will take him on long walks, play with him, and/or take him to dog parks regularly.  He is rarely left alone ( used to someone home most of the time) and is kenneled at night with no issues.  He is not a fan of fireworks or thunder and will hide under or behind anything he can find. He has enough German Shepherd in him to be a good barking watchdog when people come to the door, and he is learning to be redirected. Once they come in he&#039;s fine. Louisa is a middle aged, mid sized mystery mutt who has been in foster for a year now. She came in with her puppies a year ago, and they all went to new adventures. Louisa is waiting her turn, and needs a special family with dog experience to find her. She is reliably house trained, crates very well for the workday, listens well and respects/responds to limits and boundaries. She enjoys the company of most dogs, although one senior female at her foster she is overly bossy with. She is good with cats. Louisa would thrive in an adult home who can manage her with men. She was previously very abused by a man, which is why she was taken away, and it takes her awhile to warm up to new guys, but she does and then loves them. Jasmine is the sweetest, calmest, most loving fluffy kitty you will probably ever meet. She is a gentle soul, friendly and purrs all the time, and has so much calm and patience. Jasmine was surrendered to the vet when she kept getting &#039;backed up&#039; in her bowels and needed a surgery. The surgery was done, the meds plan and food were figured out, and she lives as a very normal kitty again with a mild laxative she takes daily and soft food. Her medical needs are around $30 a month, and that&#039;s less than you&#039;d pay for therapy you might not need with this sweetheart in your life. She loves to curl up on your body and purr and just so politely wants to be with you. Atticus is a middle aged mixed breed, about 45 pounds, who has a tough past but he sure doesn&#039;t show it. He is always happy.  He loves to chase the squirrels and enjoys watching the birds at the bird feeder, he doesn’t bark or growl at the birds he just sits on the couch and watches them. He likes to lay on the couch and will cuddle with you if you invite him. He loves to sleep in bed with his fosters as well, no matter how little space there is. Atticus came from Mexico and was badly hurt, left to heal on his own. He had a broken pelvis and broken leg that healed on it&#039;s own. Maybe that&#039;s why he enjoys a soft bed and a warm loving home so very much. Atticus is a smart dog who responds very well to training. He enjoys other dogs, meeting people, and plays well with others. He is well house trained and crates when alone, although is graduating to more free reign then also. She is more of a watcher, likes to let someone else be brave and be first for pets, then she comes up eventually and wants love also. Toys are another way to her heart. Winnie is a young adult female Corgi ( with 9% Cattle dog also) seeking a new home who is active, playful, likes to be outside burning some energy, also loves cuddling... and she needs to be the only dog in the home, and either have a fenced yard or a firm commitment to leash exercise- she does run when she gets loose. Winnie was previously adopted from us and despite extensive work with trainers and a deep commitment from her adopter, she is not doing well with the other dog in the home. We feel she needs to be the only dog in her home, although she does well meeting other dogs out and about and for visits. It&#039;s once she gets territorial of a place that she starts to become too bossy. She&#039;d be great with older kids/teens, is good with dog-savvy cats, loves to cuddle and play. She has some wild energy that she needs to get out, but that can be managed with exercise and training. She loves to jump on top of people, wildly lick faces, leap off the back of the couch, etc. She will need regular exercise and boundaries. But she also loves to cuddle once she calms down, and will curl up next to you (or on top of you) whenever she can. She&#039;s very people-focused. She is super smart. She picks things up quickly, and wants to please you. So training is easy with her - she doesn&#039;t even always need treats; lavish praise and belly rubs also work. But because of her brains, she also knows how to push the boundaries and try to skate past the rules. So consistency is key. She would probably do great if anyone wanted to do agility or herding classes or anything like that with her. She eats everything. The only toys I&#039;ve found for her are Playology bones/balls - I&#039;ll send her favorites with her. She loves to chew, but once she starts to get pieces off or finds stuffing, she actually eats it. So she has to be watched with toys. She will also eat anything she finds on the floor, edible or not. She crates beautifully. She&#039;ll start to whine a little if she can hear the family is out while she&#039;s locked up, or when she has to go outside in the morning. But otherwise she does great. However, she can also be trusted out in the house while you&#039;re gone - she doesn&#039;t destroy furniture or do anything that would be a concern. (Just make sure there&#039;s nothing within reach that she could eat...). Due to poor breeding, she has the start of bad hips already ( not likely to affect her for several years, but it&#039;s there) and is missing some teeth.She is otherwise healthy, happy, and ready to be the queen of her new home and adore all the humans there! Octavia came to us after a vet clinic closed and she had been ruling the roost there for many months. She has shown how happy she is to be in a calm, quiet home where she gets to be the only pet. She really is bossy with other cats and dogs, and is so relaxed and content being the only cat in the home. She is awful in a cage though, will swat you with claws. This means first impressions are never great, and she needs someone to just bring her home on a foster to adopt trial.  Outside of the cage, she enjoys pets, canned food, toys, and just quietly and contentedly hanging near you. She tolerates being picked up, but really prefers to come sit on you, or just hang out. Meet Kimmy. Kimmy is the true definition of a mystery mutt. We know her mom is an Australian Cattle Dog mix, but her siblings all look different. We see some Rat Terrier, Shar Pei, maybe some Border Collie or Setter in this litter, and one of them has wire hair. They are true hodge podge puppies. Kimmy is the smallest in her litter, with a sweet personality to match. She does have a fair amount of energy, but calms down nicely for a good cuddle. She is a little shy at first when meeting new people and pets, but once she feels comfortable, she lets her personality shine. She has already learned sit, shake, and lay down, has picked up using pee pads fairly quickly, and has started on the basics of house breaking. She is fostered with other dogs, cats, and kids. Kyro is an adolescent Great Pyrenees/Golden/Shepherd mix, neutered and vaccinated, great with other dogs guy who is seeking a farm type home with someone breed experienced. He is house and kennel trained, yet needs a job to do and some acreage or a large yard. Kyro is a little slow to trust new people, he is polite but takes a bit to bond. He really likes other dogs and lives with cats currently. At his adolescent age he has started resource guarding some high value items yet respects the obedience put in and did drop it and go to his kennel when asked. Dobby is an athletic small Lab mix who also has a very chill side, especially where a pile of pillows is concerned... he loves to sink into a pile of pillows and nap. He also loves walks and runs, and enjoys being able to use his nose to sniff things out. He is not reliable off lead though so does require a fenced yard or someone who can walk daily. He is well house trained, not a barker, crate trained, very dog and people friendly, but no cats. He can be a bit much for small kids, he gets excited and doesn&#039;t know his size ( 40 pounds). Spicy earned her name honestly, she has the typical spicy Torti attitude and is aloof and a little snotty at first.... but take the time to win her over, and she is your best friend. She follows me all over, wanting pets and attention, and goes happy nuts for her wand toy to chase. Her ideal home would be a quieter home with one or two people, maybe another cat ( but she&#039;s fine on her own), or a dog who would leave her be. Zues needs a foster with a patient man and woman to help him overcome his fears around men he doesn&#039;t know. This Labradoodle/Golden mix lives with 9 kids he adores, another dog, and cats, and is happy and social with kids and women but has started showing teeth to men who enter his home. He has not escalated beyond that but his owner realized she doesn&#039;t have the resources to train him and asked for rescue help. He is house trained, crate trained, medium energy and very loving.
