A Little Bit About Me

Laika is a young adult ( about a year old) 16 pound female Dalmatian/Mini Aussie mix ( for real). This happy-go-lucky girl is an instant friend to every human and dog she meets, and her ideal home with have a canine buddy for play and a yard for her to play in, along with someone active and who enjoys a dog who thrives with training. Laika is excellent with kids and other dogs, and besides harassing the cat to play, does well with cats also. She is house-trained but does rely on a routine for outside, and is crated when left alone and overnight. She loves walks, going to the park, and loves being a part of any adventure she gets to go on with you. She knows how to sit, lay down, shake, high five, sit pretty, and left/right spin. She does pretty well with focus too, but needs a bit more training with that. She would do wonderfully with agility training. She loves puzzle toys and frozen kong treats. Chicken jerky/freeze dried chicken are her favorite treats. She is a BIG chewer, so she will need lots and lots and of chew toys. She is known to chew furniture, but with a close eye and more training she's been getting better with that too. She wants to be around you all the time, but also does well on her own and doesn't whine unless she's hungry or has to go out. She makes you smile a hundred times a day. She would not do well with a home/adopter who wants a homebody, or a dog who wants to laze around the house- she needs to be busy for a little bit every day and then she settles down well. Her fee of $500 plus tax covers spay, first shots, worming, and chip. We do have a 2 week trial where we hold payment to make sure it's a good match.
