A Little Bit About Me

Duke is a very sweet, beautiful & athletic young dog, likely Lab and Australian Shepherd cross. He is a nice size at 45#. Duke was a little timid at first he is now becoming more comfortable with going to the dog park and Lowe's. Being in a house took a few days to set in but now loves being a couch potato. Duke enjoys playing with all sorts of toys, fetching balls, going for walks/runs. Duke is fully potty trained & crate trained. Periodically throughout the day he will go into the crate to take a nap & consistently sleeps quietly through the night. He has learned the "sit" & "down" commands & is making progress with loose leash walking, the "come" & "stay" commands. When directed to do so, Duke will sit & wait to eat his meal until he receives the release command. Duke is smart & food driven which has helped with his training. In fact, we have left him unattended for periods of 1-2 hours without a problem except occasional puppy behavior of chewing on a magazine or sock. Overall, Duke is a wonderful dog that just needs a little more help enabling him to gain confidence in new surroundings. Whoever adopts Duke will be blessed with a very good & loving boy.
